Meet the cast of Ovenless!
Me: Leslie, a 30-something American now living in Jiangyin, China. I'm a native Oregonian and an accidental globe trotter, having previously lived on both coasts of the U.S. and in Vienna, Austria. I am: lucky wife to Brian and a former performing artist tax guru at the Boston Symphony. An amateur cellist and avid knitter. Unemployed. A scuba diver. Traveler. Trailblazers and Red Sox fan. Speaker of so-so German and even less Chinese. An adventurous cook. Rookie blogger. Trying to live eyes wide open.
Brian: My husband, and the reason we are on this fantastic adventure. A slightly older (I love you!) 30-something. Born and raised in Montreal, he is: a dual citizen of Canada and the States. A divemaster. Habs, Sox, and Pats nut. Penguin aficionado. An eager DIY'er and expert horsehair plaster repairman. My fellow traveler. Contract Manager of CSL's build project here in Jiangyin. An occasional guest blogger. My best friend.
Stella: Our Chinese teacher and friend. In my early blogs she's simply "Our Chinese Teacher." Now that we're spending so much more time together it seemed ridiculous to keep writing "our Chinese teacher" over and over.... But since blogspot is blocked in China, I wasn't sure if I should even use her name. Brian said I was paranoid. No matter now--I got the thumbs up!
The CSL Tai Tai Club: Currently boasting only three members, we are the unemployed wives of CSL employees here in Jiangyin. We are ladies of leisure whose most common group outings include going to the gym, getting massages and eating good Korean food. Torture.
